The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis is a regional wholesale bank that has been meeting the liquidity needs of member financial institutions throughout Indiana and Michigan since 1932.

Our Mission

Our core mission is to provide a reliable source of liquidity to member banks, credit unions, community development financial institutions and insurance companies to support housing finance, asset-liability management and community lending. We also help communities and families through grants and low-cost loans to our members that help support affordable housing and economic development initiatives.

Privately Capitalized and Funded

FHLBank Indianapolis is one of 11 regional banks that make up the Federal Home Loan Bank System. FHLBanks are government-sponsored enterprises created by Congress to ensure access to low-cost funding for their member financial institutions. FHLBanks are privately capitalized and funded, and receive no Congressional appropriations. The Bank is owned by its approximately 400 Indiana and Michigan financial institution members. Community Investments FHLBank Indianapolis launches Community Multiplier grant program for affordable housing FHLBank Indianapolis has launched its newest affordable housing initiative, the Community Multiplier – Member Match program, a grant program that allows member financial institutions to maximize their community impact providing matching grant funds to non-profits working on affordable housing.

Public Announcements Office of Finance publishes annual CFR for 2024 The Office of Finance has published the 2024 Combined Financial Report (CFR) of the Federal Home Loan Banks. This report has been prepared from the unaudited financial information of all FHLBanks. Each FHLBank — including FHLBank Indianapolis — has filed its Q4 2024 Form 10-Q with the SEC.

Member Announcements FHLBank Indianapolis announces fourth quarter 2024 dividends, reports earnings On Feb. 20, 2025, the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis declared its fourth quarter 2024 dividends on Class B-2 activity-based capital stock and Class B-1 non-activity-based stock at annualized rates of 9.50% and 4.50%, respectively.
